About TADRA

The Australian Distance Riding Association (TADRA) is all about going back to basics and enjoying hours on horseback through our diverse Australian landscape.  TADRA is designed to offer complimentary and innovative ways to enjoy our horses and our riding in a traditional setting, at the same time providing a range of events for those of different abilities and experiences, and the potential to develop multi-discipline interests.

The aim is to be accessible to all levels and riders, fun for the whole family, to enjoy BBQs by the campfire and be a thoroughly interactive hands-on and educational experience.  If you're a showie, pony clubber, trail-rider, equitation enthusiast, or competitive trail-rider we have riding levels and events to suit you!  Add to that - TADRA recognises all equine distance successfully completed, whether it be 15km, 50km, 100km or 300km, with the priority on time management and horsemanship.

TADRA is a national body, designed to affiliate with Event organisers throughout Australia, creating a common unity of purpose, ethics, governance and event management. Our horse welfare and event management strategies have been designed with support and input from the national professional veterinary body, EVA – Equine Veterinarians Australia, an interest group of the AVA – Australian Veterinary Association.
